Of Apples and Androids

There is no such thing as an "iPhone killer" or a "Mac destroyer." It really bugs me when phone or computer companies advertise their product as such.  The truth of the matter is that the quality of the product is decided by the consumer, not the producer or the tech reviewer.  Apple has established an impressive reputation with market, and that is more valuable than having impressive specs and limitless easy-to-use software.  In order to create a "Mac destroyer" you would first have to surpass apple reputation, then you could make such a device.   First you must convert the public, then you can control it.  That is why I become irritated when I see a product advertised that it is superior than the leading market competitor.

  1. I agree with this and it also annoys me when companies compare themselves to each other, but i think the real problem is a underlying behavior that all companies with marketing departments use; and that is to sell product by all means possible. This is just a large example of a clearly ineffective ploy to influence the behavior of the consumer.
